Featuring Vanessa Porter on violin and Nataly Roznitovsky on piano, the concert program included four Mozart Violin Sonatas, part of Vanessa’s Mozart project where she will be performing the sixteen Mozart Sonatas and the five Mozart Concertos in 2024 in Reno and in Chile.

The program also included New Mexico contemporary composer, Lon Chaffin’s Carlsbad Caverns, commissioned and recorded by National Park Compositions Project (www.nationalparkcompositions.com) and a special appearance by harpist Marina Roznitovsky Oster.

Vanessa holds violin performance degrees from Butler University and UNR, performs regularly with the Reno Philharmonic & Reno Chamber Orchestra, and teaches violin lessons in Reno. She is involved with three creative projects including the Mozart Project, the National Parks Commissioning Project, and Fiddlers2.    In 2024 Vanessa will be joined by Chilean pianist, Eugenio Urrutia -Borlando to perform all 16 Mozart Sonatas and the 5 Mozart Concertos at venues in Reno and in Chile. 

The National Parks Commissioning Project includes Vanessa commissioning, recording, and filming music videos in each National Park. Carlsbad Caverns and Indiana Dunes National Park music videos are being released this year with Sequoia and Glacier close behind. Nataly Roznitovsky, pianist

Nataly Roznitovsky

Nataly received her MM in piano performance and pedagogy at Nikolayev’s Pedagogical University, in the Soviet Union. She worked as an accompanist at the Nikolayev Ballet school for five years and then for five more years in Haifa School of Dance, Israel. Nataly has been teaching piano privately, for all levels since 1980 and speaks English, Russian, Hebrew and Arabic.

Nataly taught music therapy in a special education school for over twenty years in Israel. She also enjoyed performing in a hotel lobby for 20 years, in the only hotel in Haifa that had live music. During that time, she produced three solo albums. Since moving to Reno, NV in 2017, she continues teaching and performing regularly in our region.

Marina Roznitovsky Oster, harpist

Marina Roznitovsky Oster

Marina is the principal harpist with the Reno Philharmonic, Reno Chamber Orchestra and is on the harp faculty at UNR. A native of Ukraine and raised in Israel, Marina started playing piano at the age of 5 and transitioned to the harp at the age of 12, giving her first concerto performance a year later. Marina has received many awards and performed with many professional orchestras in Europe and in the US.
