TOIYABE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY

About

For over forty years, the Tahoe Chamber Music Society presented free summer chamber music concerts in the Incline Village area. Desiring to fill the needs of audiences in a larger geographic range, we expanded our programming and changed our name to the Toiyabe Chamber Music Society to better reflect the northern Nevada and adjacent areas we now serve.

Founded in 1974, TCMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization presenting chamber music performances featuring local musicians, accomplished professionals from throughout the United States, and new and commissioned works by area composers.

TCMS continues to build on its long history, presenting performances by small ensembles in inviting venues in the greater Reno-Sparks area, Carson City and outlying communities in Nevada and California. Our programs span works drawn from the rich tradition of classical chamber music to new forms embracing innovative and evolving approaches to the genre. We make a priority of creating opportunities to foster the growth, education, and development of our area musicians. TCMS presents its concerts free of admission charge to further our goal of creating an accessible experience for diverse audiences of all ages to share and perpetuate the joy of live chamber music.
