TCMS is pleased to announce the presentation of its 2026 String Chamber Music Workshop for area youth. Primary coaching dates will be August 1 and 2, with optional coaching available August 3 and 4 and final coaching and performance on August 7, with additional faculty presentations on the evenings of July 31 and August 4. The Berkelium String Quartet will perform two concerts in Nevada in May 2026. The concerts will be a presentation of ‘The Bow and the Brush’; each piece on the program will be accompanied by projected art. The Fallon concert will be May 16 at 7:00 pm. The Carson City concert will be at the Grand Ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center at 2:00 pm on May 17.
Daniel Darmesin Flanagan (violin) and Dustin Budish (viola) join Reno’s master luthier Tim Dodd for this event, in which Tim Dodd will illustrate the construction and acoustic properties of a viola compared with a violin, while Dan and Dustin present a lively competition showcasing the qualities of the two instruments.
