Founded in 2018, Reno Modern Brass is a locally focused brass chamber ensemble devoted to the performance and creation of music of living composers. Its mission is to commission new works, perform recently written masterpieces, and discover neglected great works from the recent past. In this performance, the ensemble presents the world premiere of a new work by Zach Teran.
Laurentiu Norocel and Claire Tatman collaborated with Reno’s own master violin maker Tim Dodd, for a combination concert and informal discussion and demonstration of the “anatomy” and function of violins. This concert featured violin solos and duets played by the artists using violins made by Mr. Dodd. Supported in part by P&K, Inc., Reno
Tahoe Music Alive, a new non-profit initiative centered in the North Tahoe region, and TCMS collaborated to present internationally renowned artists Violinist Owen Dalby and Pianist Stephen Prutsman in a concert of Beethoven Violin and Piano Sonatas.
